Ethos and Aims
The aim of Hade Edge Junior, Infant and Nursery School is to develop mature, caring, enterprising individuals who have a clear role within society.
We strive to provide a happy, secure environment in which all children will thrive and develop intellectually, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually. We aim to make our school one in which:
Children:
- can develop their own identity and confidence by recognising that they are unique and the contribution of each individual is valued.
- are treated equally and are given the same opportunities.
- who have Special Educational Needs receive encouragement and support to reach their full potential and develop attitudes, skills and knowledge to be successful in the next stage of their education and meet the demands of the adult world.
- are encouraged to make choices, develop self-discipline and a shared sense of responsibility.
- develop a respect for moral and religious values, an appreciation of right and wrong, good and bad, cruelty and kindness and
- appreciate that difference should be celebrated.
Staff:
- work together and share a clear sense of direction.
- regularly question and evaluate their work.
- raise standards through the provision of quality learning experiences and create opportunities for our children to work cooperatively, independently and help to develop thinking skills.
- provide a stimulating learning environment and raise awareness of and apply a range of teaching and learning styles.
- provide a wide variety of learning situations and encourage the children to apply their skills and knowledge in a broad and balanced curriculum.
- are concerned about their professional development and keep up to date by reading and attending courses.
- have the confidence to learn from each other and support and help each other.
- recognise the value of shared ideas and how their enthusiasm will be passed on to the children and
- have open minds to new ideas that will be carefully evaluated before use.
Parents:
- are treated as valued partners in the education of their children.
We will all share the aims and vision of the school by developing its place in the community and enhancing the partnership with all community members.
