Physical Education
All children receive many opportunities to develop skills in both indoor and outdoor sports. We have a wide range of equipment and resources for use in school and currently are working with Holmfirth High School in their Sports Partnership Scheme. We play competitive games throughout the Holme Valley with our partner schools. Children also have the opportunity to go swimming once a week and participate in the annual Holme Valley Schools swimming Gala.
The school has a secure playground and extensive grassed areas where outdoor sports can take place. Huddersfield Giants and Huddersfield Town Football Club work in partnership with Hade Edge School and attend some P.E. training sessions during the year. Children take part in the annual Cross Country running organised by Holmfirth Harriers for local Primary schools. In recent years we have been very successful and we are very proud of our runners and the trophies they have brought into school.
In 2017 we added a new hall to our school which now gives us a large sports hall space for indoor games. This has benefitted the school greatly and our pupils now have access to a wider sports provision both inside and out.
