Good morning Reception! As you know school is closed today due to the snow. Below I have listed some suggested activities you could complete today. If you do complete any of the suggested activities please send me some photos of you doing the activities as I would love to see what fantastic learning you have been busy doing.

Phonics
We have been learning the ‘igh’ sound this week. Please could you practice the ‘igh’ sound by going through the ‘igh’ word flashcards getting your child to sound out and blend to read the words. Next could your child also practice reading the decodable and word flashcards. Finally, could you get your child to write some of the ‘igh words and/or a sentence e.g At night she went up.
Maths
This week we have been learning our number bonds to 10 as in the numbers that go together to make 10 e.g 1+9=10, 2+8=10 etc. You could practice these by getting 10 objects e.g teddies, sweets crayons etc. and separate them into two groups counting how many are in each group. How many different ways can you find to make 10? As a challenge could you write these as a number sentence e.g 7+3=10.
Reading
Please could you read your reading book and/or your monster phonics e-book that I messaged on ClassDojo earlier on in the week.
Topic
Go and explore and have fun in the snow e.g make a snowman, build an igloo, make snow angels, go sledging.

Good morning Nursery! As you know school is closed today due to the snow. Below I have listed some suggested activities you could complete today. - Practice writing your name this could be with crayons, felt tip pens, etc.
- Sing some number songs together e.g 5 little speckled frogs, 5 little ducks went swimming one day, 5 little men in a flying saucer, encouraging your child to show the number that is left on their fingers put one down/one less each time. If you are unsure of the rhymes you will be able to find them on you tube.
- Sing some favourite nursery rhymes together e.g Humpty Dumpty, wind the bobbin up, Incy Wincy spider, twinkle, twinkle etc.
- Go and explore and have fun in the snow e.g make a snowman, build an igloo, make snow angels, go sledging etc.
